Sergio Sanchez Jr was winning easily his first and with 1 minute left, he was disqualified (Hansokumake). A protest was filed but did not proceed and he was eliminated from the tournament.
 
A team of 4 judokas won 4 medals: 1 Gold and 3 Silver:
